How works assets version?

Hi !
I am using the cloud version of Squidex, and would like to know how the asset version works.
Do I have to upload the same type of file, with the same name, for that file to change version ?

You can just drag and drop an file over an asset to upload a new version.

If I have a schema attached to an asset field and this asset changes version, the field will also update the version of this asset ?

Yes, it always references the latest version.
